I just want to chronicle my last week, so that I can look back and marvel at the fact that I've survived it.

Last Friday was hockey, 8-1 win.  Drinking afterwards.

Saturday was Will's housewarming party, followed by Mary's birthday party, at which I was up till 6 AM.  Managed to get a rugburn during said party.  Probably in a battle for a glowstick (which I won).

Sunday was a practice LSAT, at which I was still slightly hungover.  Still dominated it.

Sunday night I had to read 120 pages and watch a 20 min documentary and then write a 5 page paper on said stuff.  Did pretty well.  Only got 3 hours of sleep.

Monday I had class and work and then wrote a 5 page paper on Machiavelli's The Prince.  Dominated that too.  Got 2 hours of sleep that night.

Tuesday I had class and work.  Possible finger fracture at work.  Slept for 9 hours afterwards.

Wednesday I had class and work and then studied for my test.  Got 4 hours of sleep.

Thursday I woke up really early to read for my second class.  Managed to slip off my bike pedal and severely cut up the back of my leg. Took the test, did okay, went to my other class, went to work, and came home and studied for another test. Got 4 hours of sleep.

Friday I woke up at 8:30 AM to get to work to do a training session on the new projectors I will be fixing.  Left that to take a test and go to class.  Did pretty well on that test.  Found out that Eugene's lease app didn't go through.  Dealt with that and the electric for the new apartment.  Went back to work for a couple hours.  Went and signed my lease and got my keys.

Tonight (Friday night) is hockey.  Good times.

Tomorrow I'm flying to Alabama.

Sunday, Eugene and I are moving him back to Texas (hooray!).

Wow.  What a stressful week.  And yet I've been in a pretty good mood and I've handled all of it pretty well.  I feel like a real adult now.  I'm doing what needs to be done and I'm not sleeping through classes anymore.  Now I just need to find someone to take over my old lease.

Naptime now, then packing for the weekend, then hockey.

Woo!
What a great game.  Congrats to the Penguins.  The Stanley Cup Finals are more intense than anything in any other sport.  Unbelievable game.  I miss the days when that was the Stars.

I just noticed that I hadn't updated in quite some time, so I just figured I would give anyone interested a quick rundown of my life as of now.

I'm quite thoroughly in love with a wonderful girl named Elise.
I'm a political science major, and I'm planning to get my PhD and teach political theory.
I work for the school doing A/V stuff, and the job's got its problems, but is pretty much okay.
I started playing hockey in November and am the goalie for a team including my brother and a couple of my best friends and am doing pretty well at it, as well as enjoying it more than just about anything else I've ever done.
I'm currently on vacation with my family in south Florida and am quite enjoying it, though I miss my Elise.

That's pretty much the summary.  More to follow if I feel like it, though chances are I won't.

My Grandmother died early this morning from complications due to advanced Alzheimer's.  Basically, her body finally forgot how to breathe.  She'd been in bad shape for quite some time, so we've known this was coming, and it's really for the best.  She's with God now.  She was a wonderful woman, and she will be missed by many.  I just wanted to ask those of you so inclined to pray for her soul.

Thanks.

I didn't think it could snow this much in Texas.  I bet it hasn't snowed this much here in recorded human history.  There's currently seven inches of snow on the ground, and it's still snowing hard.  Freaking crazy.

As many of you know, I had mono this last semester, and it shot all my grades to hell.  I expected to end up on academic probation this semester as a result.  No biggie.

Unfortunately, it turns out that I was on academic probation last semester and that I just never saw notice of it.  I didn't think this was possible, considering it was only my second semester, but apparently I came into school on academic watch because of my grades at UTD (which I also never saw any notice of).

So UNT suspended me for a semester.

I tried to appeal the suspension, because I had mono, plus if I'd known I was on probation, I would've done things differently.  Specifically, I would've withdrawn from the semester for medical reasons.  No luck.  According to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, "we do not waive suspensions for any reason."  Thanks for the compassion.

So I will not be back for spring semester.

Now I'm trying to figure out my options.  If it can be at all helped, I would really rather not stay in Dallas.  I don't want to live at home and I hate my job.  Add on top of that being away from Caroline, and you see why I want to try to find a way to live in Denton.

So I need a job and I need an apartment.  I'm not asking a whole lot on either one.  I need a job that will pay enough for me to live up in Denton, I really don't care what it is.  I also need an apartment that's relatively cheap, I don't need anything fancy, I just need something that I can afford and that's not so bad it's not liveable.

So if anyone knows where I might be able to find a decent paying full-time job, a cheap one-person apartment, or someone who already has a place to live that needs a roommate, please let me know.  It's late to be looking for these (especially somewhere to live), so any help/leads would be appreciated.

Apparently they've cancelled the gift-card incentive program for the cops that get the most arrests, tickets, etc.  According to the Dallas Police Department, "it was a bad idea."

No kidding.

The Dallas cops who issue the most tickets (including traffic and otherwise) and get the most arrests are being given $50 gift cards as part of some Christmas program. So everyone needs to be careful while in Dallas. People are already complaining about getting tickets for things like going 57 in a 55, which is unheard of in Dallas.

Just letting everyone know.

I know I haven't updated much lately, and I have to be honest, I probably won't change that any time soon.  Any free time will likely be dedicated to my new project: a blog about the Dallas Stars (that's hockey, for anyone who's completely out of the loop).  I'll be posting predictions, analysis, and whatever other hockey-related stuff I feel like there.  If you're interested at all, please give it a chance.  If you like it, let people know!  I'm going to make a special effort to keep it updated on a fairly regular basis, especially once the hockey season begins.

This was said by some guy my boss was on the phone with.  My boss said he was going to be in London partying with Chris Moore (Scott's dad) until July 4th.

"Chris Moore can <i>party.</i>"

My boss responded that his ability to party was the only reason one of our clients chose our company.
